About Martin Jones
After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1988, Martin worked as a freelance illustrator for magazine and book publishing companies in London including Radio Times, Elle Magazine, Cosmopolitan and the Observer magazine.
In 2002 he began lecturing in illustration in Wigan and Leigh College. Martin is currently a full time painter and takes part in exhibitions around Merseyside.
Martin draws inspiration from nature, a recurring theme being trees and their changes throughout the seasons. In the paintings included in the show Martin has looked for pattern and structure within apparent randomness and confusion, imposing order and emphasizing repetition of forms and shapes.
