Group Show by Liverpool John Moores University
2nd Year Fine Art Students
21st - 31st March 2012 (Free entry, open Tue-Sat)
The group show features the work of Ashlea Rowson, Gemma Hulme, Meesh, Hannah Midgley, Tracey Escolme and Viviano who are all studying Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores University.
The show includes a diverse collection of drawings, paintings in oils and acrylic, mixed media, sculpture, castings and a controversial performance video by Hannah Midgley sewing her face!
The artists have been inspired by a variety of themes and ideas including Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland', metaphors surrounding autism, LGBT representation in art, women's self obsession with beauty, the dark and negative sides of life and representation of the spirit and emotion of the artists subject matter reacting to events.
